Released in 2009, HDMI 1.4 is the first-generation 4k HDMI Cable specification with a fixed bandwidth of 10.2 Gbps. It is widely used on legacy audio-visual and commercial devices, and does not support high-frame-rate, high-bitrate dynamic 4K footage.
Core Features:
- This High-Speed HDMI Cable Supports 4K@30Hz and 4K@24Hz, only for static images and low-frame movies. It causes stuttering and ghosting on dynamic videos and games, and does not support 4K high refresh rates.
- This TV HDMI Cable features single-cable bidirectional transmission. It allows the TV to transmit audio signals back to soundbars or AV amplifiers via the same HDMI line, removing the need for separate audio cords and streamlining the wiring layout of home theater systems.
- It supports professional color gamuts including Adobe RGB, and is only suitable for commercial color grading and printing equipment, bringing no performance improvement for regular home video viewing.
- Enables HDMI Cables network sharing requiring full device and cable compatibility. Fully replaced by Wi-Fi and no longer practical.
- Unified transmission formats for early 3D videos and games. Obsolete after consumer 3D devices were phased out.
